The Monday Pre Budget Report announced by UK Chancellor Alistair Darling certainly caused a few shocks. Most of the report seemed to be extensively leaked but Darling outlined a pretty gloomy future of higher tax rises and lower public spending for the future of the British economy. It is with this backdrop that I am struggling to find something positive to say about not having a will. I don't think there is anything positive. Will writers can help you plan ahead and make sure that the assets in your estate are distributed in terms of your wishes.
For instance, the Towcester-based Collective Legal Solutions does free home visits without obligation. The firm says that dying intestate leaves your loved ones in a stressful situation.

Common law partners lose out on intestacy.
It is a little known fact that if you die intestate your "common law" partner lose out on any inheritance. Whereas your wife, husband or registered civil partner can get up to £125,000 and then the estate is distributed according to a pre-set formula.

We all need a will to safeguard the future!!
I know that I keep banging on about the need to get a will drawn up in the United Kingdom. This would allow you to distribute assets according to your wishes. It will also let you safeguard the interests of your children. In the world we live in you see stepchildren fighting it out with second, third wifes etc. A carefully drawn-up will could avoid these problems.
If you live in Huddersfield then you could go for Trust Inheritance, which also offers financial planning for the various options. I have only been to Huddersfield once and had a great time.

Everyone needs a will, especially with vulnerable beneficiaries.
If you have vulnerable beneficaries such as somebody with a mental disorder, then you really need a will. This will protect their interests as well as your own.
For the Edgware area of North London there is the firm Blackford Professional Services Limited. It offers services such as document storage and inheritance tax planning.
It is imperative to avoid intestacy. A will does this and it helps the distribution of the estate.

You should update your will if circumstances change.
Wills should be updated if your circumstances change such as the birth of a child or if you are affected by divorce. It is well worth the money. You can have new beneficiaries or make donations to charities. My will is pretty bog-standard and has no bells or whistles. For the next will I think I will include a couple of
charities.
For instance, in the Dudley area there is Welcare Guardian, which offers a free home consultation.
